Mersivia is an AI-powered language-learning application operated by ClarityOps.ai ("ClarityOps," "we," "us," or "our"). This policy describes how information is processed when you use Mersivia. It applies to Mersivia, not to ClarityOps’ other products.
1. Information We Collect and Process
Learning Information Stored on Your Device
Mersivia stores learning information locally on your device, including vocabulary and mastery progress, lessons, language preferences, proficiency assessments, practice activity, settings, and conversation history. Mersivia requires an account to access its authenticated services.
Relevant portions of this information may be transmitted when you use AI-powered features. Storing information locally does not mean it is never transmitted for processing.
Account and Sign-In Information
When you create or use a Mersivia account, we process account information needed to provide authentication and manage your account. This includes your email address, an internal account identifier, and information about your sign-in method. For email/password accounts, we store a securely hashed password rather than your plaintext password. We also process email verification and password-reset information when you use those features.
If you choose Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, we receive and verify authentication information from the provider, including a provider-specific account identifier and, when available, your email address and verification status. Apple may provide a private relay email address if you choose to hide your email. We use this information to authenticate you and associate the sign-in method with your Mersivia account. We do not receive your Apple or Google password.
We issue and process authentication credentials, including access and refresh tokens, to maintain your signed-in session. Account and authentication records are stored on our servers. Learning progress and conversation history remain primarily stored on your device; signing in does not by itself mean that all local learning data is backed up or synchronized to our servers.
App-Specific Installation Identifier
Mersivia generates a random identifier for the app installation and stores it on your device. We use it to identify installations, apply rate limits, protect the service against abuse, and associate technical usage records with an installation. It is not Apple’s advertising identifier or a hardware identifier. We do not use it to track activity across other companies’ apps or websites.
AI Conversation and Learning Content
When you use AI features, Mersivia sends the information needed to process your request to ClarityOps’ servers. This may include your messages, relevant conversation history, learning instructions, vocabulary, and assessment context. Our servers forward necessary content to AI service providers, primarily OpenAI, to generate responses, corrections, assessments, and vocabulary suggestions.
We do not intentionally send your Mersivia installation identifier to the AI provider. However, conversation text can contain information you choose to share, so please avoid including sensitive personal information.
Technical Usage Information
Our servers record operational data such as the installation identifier, request type, AI provider and model, request status, errors, processing time, token usage, request identifiers, and timestamps. We use these records for reliability, security, troubleshooting, rate limiting, and cost management.
2. How We Use Information
- Provide interactive language-learning conversations, lessons, and practice.
- Generate AI-assisted feedback, assessments, and vocabulary recommendations.
- Support personalized learning and maintain application functionality.
- Create and manage accounts, verify email addresses, provide sign-in and password-reset services, maintain sessions, and process account deletion requests.
- Authenticate app requests, prevent abuse, and maintain security.
- Measure service performance, investigate errors, and manage operating costs.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information or use Mersivia information for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
3. How We Share Information
- AI service providers: We send the content necessary to process AI requests to providers, primarily OpenAI. Those providers process information under their applicable service terms and data-handling practices.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers: Providers that support our servers, databases, networking, and related operations may process technical information necessary to provide those services.
- Sign-in providers: If you choose Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, Apple or Google processes your authentication request under its own privacy practices. We receive the information needed to verify your identity and establish your Mersivia account.
- Apple services: When you use speech recognition or other Apple-provided features, Apple may process information as described below.
- Legal and security needs: We may disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect our service and its users.
We do not intentionally provide the Mersivia installation identifier to our AI providers with conversation requests. AI providers may retain request information according to their applicable policies and agreements.
4. Speech Recognition and Audio
If you choose to use voice input, Mersivia uses Apple’s speech-recognition technology. Depending on the device, language, and system configuration, Apple may process speech using its servers. Mersivia does not intentionally send raw microphone recordings to ClarityOps’ AI chat server. Recognized text may be transmitted as part of an AI conversation.
Spoken responses use Apple’s text-to-speech functionality. You can control microphone and speech-recognition permissions in your device settings.
5. Data Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect information processed through Mersivia. Communications between the app and our servers use HTTPS encryption. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Learning progress and conversation history are primarily stored on your device. Deleting Mersivia generally removes its locally stored app data, subject to device backups and operating-system behavior.
Our servers retain installation-associated operational usage records as needed for service administration, security, troubleshooting, and analysis. The API usage records are not intended to store full conversation transcripts. AI providers and infrastructure services may retain data according to their applicable terms and operational requirements.
Deleting the app does not automatically delete previously generated server-side records. To request access to or deletion of server-side information associated with your installation, contact us at the address below. We may need information sufficient to identify the relevant installation, and some records may be retained where legally required or necessary for legitimate security purposes.
You can request deletion of your Mersivia account using the Delete Account option in the app. Account deletion removes the account and its associated sign-in identities and invalidates its active authentication sessions. It does not necessarily remove local learning data from your device or historical operational records retained separately for security, troubleshooting, legal compliance, or other legitimate purposes. To request access to or deletion of remaining server-side information, contact us using the address below. Third-party providers may retain information under their own policies.
7. Your Privacy Choices and Rights
You may choose whether to use voice input or Apple or Google Sign-In, manage permissions through your device settings, delete your account in the app, and stop using AI-powered features. Depending on your location, you may have rights to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information. Contact us to make a request. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.
8. Children’s Privacy
Mersivia is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through Mersivia, please contact us so we can evaluate and address the request.
9. International Processing
Our service providers may process information in the United States or other countries where they operate. Privacy laws in those locations may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as Mersivia changes. We will post the updated policy at this URL and revise the “Last Updated” date. Where required, we will provide additional notice.
